the need for innovation
Nothing is permanent. We at (dot)connect not only acknowledge this but embrace it. Future economies will be characterised by the ever changing developments in new technologies and the business models that accompany them. We know that companies have to be agile to survive these rapidly changing ecosystems. This isn’t a warning for the future, but a mandate for now. Every established business can profit from a less-structured more start-up like approach.
the challenge
The challenge lies in shifting corporate attitudes so they better support early-stage ventures, ensuring innovation doesn’t fail. However, administrative barriers, risk aversion, high R&D costs and a 9-5 work schedule can often get in the way of developing something utterly new.
Corporations are what they are because they’re tenacious, know what they’re good at and stick to it. Their focus on core business and working at scale means that certain rules need to be obeyed. But in a time marked by constant fluctuations, positions need to be rethought and new methodologies applied. We know that building new ventures inside existing frameworks and organisations is a huge undertaking, and we have the radically different skillsets and expertise that are needed to see your new ventures through to fruition.
are startups the solution?
To tackle the innovator’s dilemma, corporations can work directly with startups, building incubators, accelerators, venture clients, early-stage CVCs, etc. We’ve seen this done, and while we admire entrepreneurship, we don’t think that this approach is particularly beneficial for either side.
On the one hand you have often rigid corporations with huge amounts of expertise and knowledge, and on the other you have nimble early-stage companies with few resources and experience. Startups tend to solve general problems, usually not related to the particular needs of the corporate client. All of this can result in an unreliable collaboration, where the precision that’s really needed is lost amongst the rigid structures and inexperience.

innovation as a service
Innovation means knowing what to expect and being experienced and flexible enough to be an active part of whatever needs to be done. From the outset we work with our corporate partners to uncover the hidden challenges and their potential market opportunities. We will devise a business model and evaluate how to best implement it. We’re meticulous operators with a holistic approach that covers all aspects of innovation in the business and technology sectors, and deliver it “as a service” exactly where our partners need it.
no strings attached
After working together, from defining an idea to clarifying the end-to-end vision of the product, we'll hand over the operations to our corporate partners. No strings attached and no further commitment. What we helped you build, is yours.
